France Identité: A Secure Digital Identity Service

France Identité is a new public service that provides a secure digital identity solution. Developed by the Gouvernement, this Android application allows users to prove their identity without disclosing all their personal data. With France Identité, you can replace your traditional usernames and passwords, effectively preventing identity theft.

If you are over 18 years old and have the new national identity card (distributed since 2021 in a credit card format), you can become a beta tester and access the early launch of France Identité.

Using the France Identité app, you can conveniently read your new identity card directly on your phone. You can also set up a personal code to secure access to your data and create one-time-use identity certificates to replace the need for scanned copies of your physical ID.

Future updates of the app will allow you to authenticate yourself on all services available through France Connect. Additionally, France Identité aims to provide a way for users to prove their age without revealing their identity.

When it comes to data privacy, France Identité prioritizes user protection. The app does not process your data for commercial or advertising purposes. It adheres to the regulations set forth by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French data protection law (loi informatique et libertés).
